'eh' is just the canadian translation of the american 'huh?' or more commonly heard, 'duh?'
'Whats the square root of thirty six thousand?'

-huh?- / -duh?-

would be translated to

-eh?-

It most certainly is not used in Australia and Great Britain, Rodney, it is used by Canadians to punctuate everything they say.
"Hey Terrance, it's aboot the coldest durn day I've seen in a long time, eh?"

"That's becuase your drunk Tristan."

"Me? a Canadian? Drunk? noooo, never"
used by townies a lot cos they think thier hard.
"Swear down, eh"
"Spark you out, eh"
av Not a townie 6. oktober 2003
A loose interpretation would be "i trust you and love you". Males that have trouble expressing themselves because they hide their emotions use this word excessively.
1. -Are you mad at me?
-Eh.
2. -Do you think I'm stupid?
-Eh.

Canadian slang. Equivalent to 'right' or 'huh?', except not used by anyone except for my band of losers.
